Morris clinches title in WC South

MORRIS -- The Morris Area boys basketball earned at least a share of the West Central South Conference title with a 68-47 win over Yellow Medicine East Monday.

MORRIS -- The Morris Area boys basketball earned at least a share of the West Central South Conference title with a 68-47 win over Yellow Medicine East Monday.

The Tigers (13-2, 18-3) lead defending champion Montevideo (10-3, 15-6) by 2½ games. Morris can clinch the conference outright with a Thunder Hawks' loss in any of their last three league games. Montevideo travels to BOLD today. The Tigers finish their conference schedule March 3 at Paynesville.

Twelve players scored at least one points for Morris, led by Eric Riley with 13 points and Tyler Meichsner with 11. Taylor Nohl pulled down eight boards and Jackson Henrich had seven.

Taylor Olson paced the Sting (0-14, 2-18) with 18 points and seven rebounds. Anton Leiseth followed with 11 points.
