WILLMAR-The Willmar WarHawks trailed 2-0 through the opening two periods and pulled one goal back but gave up another for a 3-1 loss to the Breezy Point North Stars Friday night.
The North Stars struck gold when Gunner Bourassa scored from a dangerous zone in front of the net in the first period, with an assist credited to former WarHawk Jacob Berkowitz.
Carson Simon made it 2-0 just 30 seconds into the second period.
The WarHawks cut the deficit to one with a Campbell Jackson goal early in the third period but Dylan Borseth made the comeback tough with a North Star goal at the 6:19 mark.
Willmar netminder Lucas Ehrlich kept his team in things with 31 saves but Dan Fielding stopped 21 of Willmar's 22 shots to earn the win.
