New London-Spicer edges Starbuck

SPICER -- Mike Danielson hit a two-run double in the third inning and a three-run homer in the fourth to propel New London-Spicer to a 7-6 win over Starbuck Sunday in a Cornbelt League amateur baseball game.

Ryan Speltz earned the win for the Twins, surrendering four runs in 52/3 innings of work. He walked three and struck out six. Ben Kulset pitched the final 31/3 innings, allowing three hits and two runs, while walking one and striking out six.

Jeremy Dirksen had two hits for NLS.

Mike Andreas hit two doubles and drove in a run for Starbuck. Mike VanOverbeck and Joe Heidellberger also had had two hits each.

Paynesville 2, Atwater 1

Doug Fuchs cracked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning which proved to be the winning run for Paynesville.

Fuchs tallied two hits and pitched the last inning for Paynesville. Adam Hemmech also hit two hits for the Pirates.

Ryan Hess, the second Paynesville hurler, earned the win, pitching four innings of no-hit baseball. He weather five walks, while striking out two. Derek Stanger worked the first four innings, allowing just one hit and one run, but he walked seven.

Matt Tanner and Lucas Pickles tallied Atwater's two hits.

Regal scored runs in the eighth and ninth innings to beat Norway Lake-Sunburg 2-0 on Sunday.

Austin Hadley led Regal with two hits and an RBI. Austin Kampsen drove in Regal's second run.

Chris Beyer earned the win with three innings of relief and two surrendered hits. He also struck out five.

Austin Hadley also pitched six innings of shutout ball for Regal.

Chris Braaten, Nate Schlagel, Eric Ellingboe and Jordan Johnson collected Norway Lake-Sunburg's four hits.

Brandon Larson smacked a three-run homer in seventh inning to highlight a 9-2 Raymond victory over Dumont on Saturday.

Michael Jeseritz and Tom Devor tallied two hits each for Raymon. Jesertiz also drove in two runs while Devor picked up one RBI.

Brandon Larson earned the win for Raymond by pitching four innings and surrendering one run on four hits. He also struck out three.

Tyler Gray and Buck Johnson combined for four of Dumont's seven hits.
