Chad Schmiesing, the current head coach for boys and girls tennis at New London-Spicer, was appointed to the head boys basketball job by the NLS School Board Monday.
Schmiesing, the head boys coach for the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons, stayed on the staff when Matt Cordes took over before the 2003-04 season.
Cordes, who left the program to take a job at Oak Grove Lutheran in Fargo, led the Wildcats to state Class AA titles in 2008 and last season.
