MARSHALL - Brandon Adelman scored with nine seconds left in overtime to give New London-Spicer the lead and Jackson Ness blocked a Redwood Valley shot at the buzzer as the Wildcats squeezed out a 72-70 victory on Saturday at Southwest Minnesota State.
The Wildcats have won three of their last four and are 10-7 overall. They play host to Glencoe-Silver Lake at 7 p.m. Tuesday in New London.
Redwood Valley lost its third straight and the 11-9 Cardinals travel to play BOLD on Tuesday.
On Saturday, it didn't appear early that overtime was in the offing. NLS fell behind 15-0 in the first three minutes, but clawed back to tie the game at 36 at halftime.
The game was even throughout the second half and Redwood Valley's James Pendleton missed a 3-pointer at the regulation buzzer with the score 64-64.

The Cardinals had control in overtime when Cole Woodford hit two-straight 3-pointers to put his team ahead 70-66 with 1:10 to play.
But Ness scored and Hunter Sjoberg made a steal that led to a Mitch Halvorson layup that tied the game.
Ness then stole the inbounds pass and NLS called a timeout with 18 seconds left. After the timeout, Adelman pulled up for a jumper that put the Wildcats ahead and Ness made his block to seal the deal.
Adelmann scored 22 points and he also had 10 assists. Halvorson scored 12 points and Ander Arnold almost joined Adelman in the double-double club with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Ness finished with nine points, seven rebounds and two steals.

A highly-anticipated match between two of the state's top teams in Class A matched the hype, as Heritage Christian came back from a 12-point halftime deficit to hand Central Minnesota Christian just its second loss of the season.
CJ Woda scored 13 points and Jack VanderTop added 11 points to lead the Eagles, while Matthew Van Eps and Austin Marcus scored 11 points each for the Bluejays.
CMCS entered the game ranked third in Class 1A, with Heritage Christian just behind in sixth place.

Hallie Euerle hit a free throw with 1.7 seconds left in regular to forge a tie and Litchfield rolled in overtime, downing Osakis 66-60 on Saturday in Litchfield.
Osakis took a one-point left with nine seconds left but Euerle drew a foul and converted one of two foul shots to get the Dragons into the extra period.
Kyndra Beavers led the Dragons with 12 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals.
Macy Huhner notched a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, Brynne Wahl scored 14 points and Euerle finished with nine points and 10 boards.
The Dragons play at Mound Westonka at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Litchfield is 9-6 overall.
Osakis fell to 14-2. The Silverstreaks lost their second-straight game after opening the season with 14-straight wins.
