NLS rolls by Milaca

NEW LONDON -- Senior quarterback Jayme Moten was a perfect 8-for-8 passing and four went for touchdown as No. 6 (AAA) New London-Spicer flew past Milaca 54-13 on Friday in a one-sided battle of West Central Conference North teams with one loss coming in.

Moten hooked up with Brandon Zylstra three times for touchdowns of 44, 19 and 20 yards and also with Tanner Tobkin for 33 yards as the Wildcats (4-1, 5-1) sailed to a 48-13 lead by halftime.

Moten, who threw for 209 yards, also sneaked in from a yard out for his team's first score and booted six extra points.

NLS finished with 403 total yards, including 194 on the ground. Ronnie Johnson rushed for 107 yards and two scores. Zylstra snagged five passes for 132 yards.

The players and fans honored the memory before the game of 2007 NLS graduate Ryane Clark, a soldier who died in combat in Afghanistan on Monday.
