WILLMAR -- Willmar's Corben Green extended his hitting streak to 17 games with a seventh-inning single that drove in the winning run in the Stingers' 4-3 Northwoods League victory on Wednesday at Bill Taunton Stadium.
Green's single drove home Hunter Dozier from second and broke a 3-3 tie. Dozier led off the seventh with a single and move up on Michael Suchy's single.
The Stingers improved to 4-3 in the second half of the Northwoods season and the two teams play the final game of a three-game set at 7:05 p.m. today in Willmar.
St. Cloud took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first and added another run in the third.
But in the bottom of the third, the Stingers' Kenny Roberts hit his second double of the game off the centerfield fence, bringing home Dozier and Suchy, who reach on back-to-back walks, to tie the game 2-2.

Stingers starter and winner George Asmus allowed another Rox run on Carlos Lopez' solo homer in the fourth inning but Willmar got the run back in the bottom half of the inning.
Zach Benson and Forrestt Allday both singled, moved up on a wild pitch and Mitch Rowan singled in Benson to tie the game at 3-3.
Asmus, who was treated briefly for a leg injury in the third but stayed in the game, left after seven solid innings, allowing four hits while striking out seven.
Scott Lieser and Andre Wheeler worked the eighth, and Brady Anderson struck out two in the ninth and stranded the potential tying run at second to earn the save.
Notes: Outfielder Stephen Tabott suffered an injury and returned home, and pitcher Anthony Consiglio is on an inning limit and will make his last appearance on Friday. Infielder and catcher Phil Pupillo will replace Talbott on the roster and Garrett Fischer will replace Consiglio on Saturday. ... Pupillo is a sophomore who is going to Saint Louis University next year and Garrett Fischer is the twin-brother of Stinger pitcher Kyle Fischer and will be a junior next fall at St. Cloud State University. Pupillo played junior college ball at John A. Logan.
