WILLMAR - With manager Drew Saberhagen already on board, the Willmar Stingers finalized the rest of their coaching staff for the 2015 season.
Stingers’ pitching coach Matt Passauer will return for his second season, and former Stingers’ catcher Nate Johnson joins the staff for his first season.
Saberhagen and Passauer, along with P.J. McIntee, helped lead Willmar to a 46-26 record and postseason berth last season.
Johnson, replacing McIntee on the staff, is the second former player to return to Willmar as coach. Carlos Leyva, another player from the 2010 squad, was an assistant coach in 2013 under former manager Matt Hollod.
Passauer is the interim head coach at East Georgia State College during the rest of the year, and Johnson is an assistant coach at Orange Coast College in California.
Johnson, who coached in the Cape Cod League last summer, played 39 games for the Stingers in 2010, hitting .184 with four home runs in 114 at-bats.
