WILLMAR -- The Willmar girls basketball team battled undefeated Fergus Falls even in the second half but couldn't make up a 16-point halftime deficit and fell to the Otters 56-40 in a Central Lakes Conference game on Tuesday.
The Cardinals, now 3-4 in the CLC and 5-7 overall, play St. Cloud Tech on Thursday in Willmar. Fergus Falls improved to 6-0 in the conference and 13-0 overall.
Willmar's Laura Swartz hit four 3-point shots and led the Cardinals with 12 points, and Addy Nelsen and Megan Skalla both had 7 points.
