Two area boys basketball players surpassed the 1,000-point career mark in recent games.
Benson's Sam Peterson became the fifth Braves player to surpass 1,000 points in a 79-67 loss to BOLD last week.
Peterson, a 6-foot-5 senior, needed 21 points to reach the milestone heading into the game and he scored 32 points. He joins Aaron Lindahl (1,658 points), Daniel Fragodt (1,466), Adam Jensen (1,330) and Jacob Fahl (1,126) in Benson's 1,000-point club.
Earlier this season, ACGC's Trever Heining scored his 1000th point in against Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart.
Heining needed one point to reach his goal heading into the game, and he finished the game with 21 points (see game story in Dec. 13 Tribune).
