BELGRADE -- A short-handed Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa girls basketball team fell to Pierz 60-52 in a Central Minnesota Conference matchup Friday.
The Jaguars (1-3, 1-9) had two players out with the flu and one gone for family reasons. Plus, they only had one player available for one half because she played in the junior varsity game. That gave the Jaguars only seven players that dressed for the game.
BBE still took a 30-21 halftime lead, but the Pioneers (3-2, 7-6) sank all four of their three-pointers in the first two minutes of the second half and outscored the Jaguars 39-22 in the last 18 minutes.
Amber Preimesberger had a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead Pierz.
Raeann Sorenson had 14 points and five steals for BBE, which lost its third straight. Rachel Anderson added eight points and 11 rebounds.
