KIMBALL -- Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City left 10 runners on base and the Falcons' season came to an end Thursday as Kimball upended ACGC 6-1 in the play-in game of the Section 5A-West baseball playoffs.
Mitch Tauer's sacrifice fly in the first inning brought in Trever Heining and gave ACGC (1-18) a quick 1-0 lead. But the Falcons left the bases loaded when the inning ended. ACGC left the bases loaded again in the fifth.
Kimball (3-15) starter Aaron Laabs escaped harm by striking out nine and giving up only one extra-base hit -- a double to Hayden Rouser -- in a complete-game performance.
Quentin Bryce went 3-for-3 to drive in two runs and Austin Ruehle and Jordan Joseph both had two hits to spark the Cubs, who scored twice in the first and four times in the fifth.

Steve Jakel's single with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning gave the Jaguars the game-winning run.
RCW scored a run in the third and one in the fourth on groundouts.
The Jaguars were held to two hits by five Canby pitchers. RCW also sent five pitchers to the mound, with Dakota Freiborg, who had the Jaguars' other hit, throwing the last Xc innings for the win. He walked two and struck out two.

Aaron Valiant allowed one hit over five innings for the win. David Yordi allowed a hit in the sixth and Zach Kinny threw a hitless seventh.

Shaun Condon went 5-for-5, including three doubles, and drove in four runs to ignite MACCRAY's fifth straight win.
The Wolverines (17-2) scored in every inning except the third en route to scoring a season-high 17 runs behind 14 hits and 10 walks issued by four Benson pitchers.

Tyler Wrede tripled and singled to drive in five runs for the Wolverines. Jordan Ruter, Caleb Hanson and Dylan Aeikens had two hits apiece. Hanson also drove in two runs.
