MONTEVIDEO - Carter Asche drove in four runs to support himself on the mound and MACCRAY stayed alive in the Section 3A playoffs with a 9-4 win over Canby on Tuesday.
Asche was 2-for-4 with a double and he also scored three times. On the hill, he worked all seven innings, allowing four earned, just two walks and he struck out seven.
The Wolverines advanced in the section loser’s bracket to play Minneota/Lincoln HI at 5 p.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart.
Minneota/LH lost to Windom Area 6-1 in the winners bracket on Tuesday in Sacred Heart.
MACCRAY scored four first-inning runs but the Lancers tied it with four of their own in the third.

But the Wolverines answered immediately with a three-run fifth and Asche shut down the Lancers the final three innings.
Tyler Moffenbier was 2-for-3 and drove in three runs and Dylan Abraham doubled in a run in the fifth
