WILLMAR - The Willmar baseball team fell behind early and couldn't solve Sartell starter Chris Belling in an 8-0 Central Lakes Conference loss on Friday at Swansson Orange.

Sartell score three runs in the first two innings and Felling was dealing. He worked six innings, allowing just one hit and a walk while striking out eight.

"We fell behind early again," said Willmar head coach Tom DeBoer. "We keep digging ourselves in holes."

Felling and reliever Isaac Schneider allowed just three Cardinals base runners.

"(Felling) got ahead of our hitters and we struggled to put the ball in play," DeBoer said. "We just couldn't make contact."


The Cardinals take on section opponent Big Lake on the road at 1 p.m. today.

Derek Dolezal was a man possessed at the plate, hitting three doubles and driving in four runs.

Regan Carlson and Ryan Torkelson both drove in two runs and Caleb Collins worked six strong innings to lead the Saints over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton in Sunburg on Friday.

Josh Peterson and Brandin Dahl also drove in runs.


Collins allowed a run on three hits and he struck out six.

The Saints, now 5-1, play at Canby at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Jordan Sagedahl took the bump and continued BOLD's early-season refusal to allow runs to the opposition.

Sagedahl threw a two-hit shutout and struck out four as the Warriors claimed an 11-0 win over Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Friday.

Jack Peppel drove in four runs for BOLD.

Litchfield used seven hits and took advantage of a bevy of walks to score 11 runs and take down Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted.

Seven different batters logged hits for the Dragons and Tyler Sangren took advantage of his walks to score four runs.

Litchfield will play Mound Westonka Tuesday.

Wyatt Halvorson worked a complete game and Cole Bungarden delivered a bases-clearing triple in a five-run seventh as Lac qui Parle Valley defeated Browerville in a game played in Elrosa on Friday.

Halvorson, a sophomore, opened the game by retiring the first 12 Tigers he faced. He allowed four hits, an earned run and he struck out six.

Tied in the top of the seventh, the Eagles loaded the bases and the go-ahead run scored when Evan Benson drew a walk. Bungarden followed with his three-run triple.

Bungarden had two hits and Peyton Mortenson was 2-for-3. Dain Haas and Eean Allpress both drove in runs.

The Eagles play host to Minneota at 4:30 p.m. Monday in Madison.
