RAYMOND - Jake Meyer went 3-for-4, which included the winning hit, and Austin Bulthuis threw seven solid innings to help the visiting Central Minnesota Christian School Bluejays topple MACCRAY 3-1 in a Camden Conference game Thursday.
The game was scoreless through four innings before Meyer doubled in the fifth and later scored on a passed ball. MACCRAY tied the game in the sixth on a Cheyton Homan double that scored Connor Cronen, who reached after the CMCS catcher dropped a third strike.
The Bluejays responded by scoring twice in the seventh. Mason Dehmlow put CMCS back in front by coming in on Meyer’s double and Meyer later scored on a throwing error.
Bulthuis retired the Wolverines 1-2-3 in the bottom half of the seventh to earn the complete-game win. The senior surrendered just three hits and one walk while striking out five.
Cronen was the hard-luck loser, striking out seven and scattering five hits and three walks in a complete-game outing.
CMCS hosts Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Monday and MACCRAY is off until playing at BOLD on Tuesday.
