BOLD, the defending Class A baseball champions, received the No. 1 seed for next week's state tournament that starts in Chaska.
The Warriors, who qualified for state the hard way by winning six straight loser's bracket games at the Section 2A tournament, open against unseeded Red Lake County (20-5) Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at Chaska Athletic Park. The Warriors are 21-3 after going 7-1 at the section tournament.
Unbeaten New York Mills (23-0) is the No. 2 seed, Chatfield (21-3) is No. 3, New Life Academy of Woodbury (22-4) is No. 4 and Springfield (21-2) is No. 5. Chaska is the host for all of Thursday's quarterfinals and Friday's semifinals and third-place game. The championship game is Saturday, June 14 at Target Field in Minneapolis.
