MORRIS - Bryce Jergenson turned in a superlative performance, allowing just one hit and striking out seven as the Morris/Chokio-Alberta baseball team blanked Melrose 6-0 on Tuesday.
Jergenson worked all seven innings, allowing only Austin Shoenberg’s single to left in the third inning.
Jergenson worked out a bases-loaded jam in that inning to preserve his shutout.
Jergenson was tough at the plate, too, with two hits and he also scored three runs. Noah Grove doubled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice, and Corey Storck also had a pair of hits.
Nate Anderson doubled in two runs and Gage Backman also drove in a run.
