Prep Baseball: KMS advances in 5A-West

SUNBURG - Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg advanced in the Section 5A-West playoffs with a 4-3 win over St. John’s Prep on Friday.
Israel Rodriguez was 2-for-3 and drove in a run, and Rylan Hatlestad was 1-for-2.
Jordan Engler got the win in relief of Hatlestad, going 5.1 innings, striking out two and scattering five hits.
Hatlestad allowed two earned runs and struck out four in 1.2 innings.
KMS (10-9) hosts Eden Valley-Watkins 5 p.m. Tuesday in the sub-section semifinals.
