ORONO -- Litchfield's bats ran into a buzzsaw Saturday, gathering only five hits in a doubleheader loss to Orono.
The Dragons (4-5, 4-5) were held to three hits and Orono (7-1, 7-2) scored two runs in the sixth to win the first game, 2-0. Litchfield only had two hits in the second game, an 11-0, five-inning loss.
Orono's Jud McKown and Litchfield's Brady Smith locked horns in a pitcher's dual to start the twin bill.
But Orono sneaked in two runs on a two-out single from Eric Peterson in the sixth inning to take a 2-0 lead.
McKown finished with a three-hittter with eight strikeouts for the win. Smith allowed five hits and struck out seven in taking the loss.

The Dragons had two runners on base in the seventh inning with one out, but a double play ended the game.
Orono's Brandon Walker allowed just two hits in the second game, striking out eight and walking two.
Eric Hulterstrum and Clint Hannes each went 1-for-2 for the Dragons.
