RAYMOND - Connor Cronen and Tyler Moffenbier both laced two-run, two-out singles in the fifth inning, helping MACCRAY overcome a two-run deficit and power past Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 8-3 on Thursday in Raymond.
The Wolverines also worked out of potential jam in the seventh, when RTR loaded the bases with no outs. MACCRAY walked in a run, but reliever Caleb Melin got a strike out for the first out, RTR hit a hard liner to short and an infield pop up to end the game.
Derick Sommers had three hits and Moffenbier earned the win, working the first six innings.
The Wolverines improved to 3-0 in the Camden Conference and 6-2 overall.
They travel to play Minneota at 6 p.m. Monday.
