SUNBURG - MACCRAY erased a one-run deficit with a seven-run sixth inning and went on to defeat Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 12-4 on Monday in a Camden Conference game at Reistad Field.
The Wolverines improved to 4-4 in the conference and 5-6 overall. They finish their conference and regular season schedule at Tracy-Milroy-Balaton today.
The Saints fell to 2-8 in the league and 2-9 overall. They play at Osakis today before opening the Section 5A-West playoffs against ACGC at 5 p.m. Thursday in Sunburg.
KMS scored four runs in the second inning and led 4-3 before the Saints’ 11 walks and four hit batters caught up with them.
MACCRAY scored seven runs, with Derick Sommers and Carter Asche both driving in a pair of runs. The Wolverines tacked on two more runs in the top of the seventh.

Sommers was 3-for-4 with the two RBIs and Jacob Aviles singled and drove in three runs. Asche, Dylan Abraham and Tyler Dunner all had two RBIs.
Asche worked all seven innings, allowing just the four runs despite KMS’ 11 hits. He walked one and struck out seven.
The Saints’ Travis Lamecker was 3-for-3 and drove in a run.
Rylan Hatlestad had two doubles in four trips, and Jordan Engler, Kyle Baker and Brendan Hjelle all were 2-for-4 and drove in runs.
