MORRIS - The Morris/Chokio-Alberta baseball team won three games to claim the championship of the Morris Invitational over the weekend.
The Tigers, now 5-1 overall, defeated Pelican Rapids 11-1 in five innings on Friday night, then downed MACCRAY 6-2 and Breckenridge 9-4 on Saturday.
MACCRAY was second at 2-1, Pelican Rapids finished 1-2 and Breckenridge lost all three of its games.
Noah Grove was the story against Pelican Rapids, working all five innings and getting 14 of the 15 outs by strikeout. Grove also doubled in the game-ending run in the bottom of the fifth.
Brady Jergenson doubled, drove in a run and scored twice and Nate Anderson had two hits, including a double, drove in a run and scored twice.

Against MACCRAY, Danny Tracy worked 4.2 innings to get the win and Bryce Jergenson cleaned up the last 2.1, striking out three, to earn the save.
Corey Storke doubled twice in four trips and drove in a run, and Brady Jergenson had two hits and drove in a run.
Ethan Stahman was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Against Breckenridge, Gage Backman hit a two-run home run and a pair of sophomores pitched strong games.
Anderson doubled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice, and Joey Dufault was 2-for-3 and scored twice.
Starter Seth Staples worked four innings and struck out eight to earn the win, and Sean Amundson worked three no-hit innings in relief.
