Wright County

Hutchinson 10,

Litchfield 9

Litchfield forced extra innings with a three-run, seventh-inning rally, but Hutchinson's Mitchell Peterson drove home the winning run in the ninth on Friday in Litchfield.

Litchfield could have tied the Tigers for second place in the conference with a victory, but the Dragons fell to 4-4 in the Wright and 4-5 overall.

"It was a good back and forth game," Litchfield head coach Jeff Wollin said. "The difference was that we walked nine and they walked four, and it seemed like if we walked someone they ended up scoring. That hurt us."

Litchfield led 6-4 in the fifth but the Tigers scored two in the sixth and three in the seventh to go ahead 9-6.

But the Dragons responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning to send the game into extra frames.

In the top of the ninth, Hutch's Nate Blom walked, was bunted to second and scored on Peterson's double to left-center field.

Tiger pitcher Max Cowger set the Dragons down 1-2-3 in the ninth to earn the win.

Litchfield plays a make-up game against Waconia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday in Litchfield.
