SPICER - Lucas Nordmeyer pitched a strong game, allowing a run and striking out eight in New London-Spicer’s 4-1 non-conference win over Montevideo on Monday at Green Lake Diamond.
Nordmeyer also had two hits, including a double, and Trey Austvold, Ryan Vraa and Michael Arnold all drove in runs for the Wildcats, who improved to 1-2 overall.
Montevideo’s Zac Enevoldsen had a double among his two hits and Jordan Thompson drove in the Thunder Hawks’ lone run. Thompson took a tough loss, allowing two earned runs and striking out seven. None of the three Wildcats and T-Hawks pitchers issued a walk.
The T-Hawks fell to 3-2. NLS plays host to Waconia at 5 p.m. today in Spicer.
