MONTEVIDEO - Colton Minnick and Brody Larson had RBI hits in the top of the seventh inning breaking a 3-all tie and the Falcons tripped up Montevideo 5-3 on Monday in a West Central Conference game.

Both ACGC runs were unearned after a Thunder Hawks’ error opened the inning.

Monte put the tying run at second in the bottom of the seventh. Falcons’ second baseman Cullen Hoffmann knocked down a blistering bad-hop grounder that appeared headed to the outfield and made the play to end the game.

A Brett Busskohl RBI single and an RBI triple by David Kinzler put Monte up 3-0 in the second. ACGC tied it with three of its own in the next at bat, which featured a two-run single by Austin Hiepler.

Kinzler went all seven for the win on a five-hitter. Monte’s second pitcher, Spencer Hildahl, took the loss, though he pitched well, allowing just two hits and no earned runs over 3Z\c innings, walking one and fanning four.
