DELANO - Eddie Estrada hit a three-run homer and Ross Wendlandt pitched a complete game to lead Litchfield over Paynesville 10-6 in the Section 5AA-West semifinals on Wednesday.
Dylan Kotzer’s go-ahead double in the bottom of the fifth put the Dragons up for good.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, but Estrada’s homer tied it in the bottom of the inning.
Paynesville rallied back and led 5-3 in the fifth, but the Dragons strung together a single, walk, and fielder’s choice, and Carson Deal clubbed a two-run double to tie it up.
Deal scored the go-ahead run on Kotzer’s double, and Litchfield added three more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Cody Beavers was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, and Estrada was 2-for-3.
Wendlandt fanned four and allowed three earned runs to pick up the win.
Litchfield faces Dassel-Cokato 7 p.m. today at Delano in the subsection finals.
Paynesville will face Maple Lake in the loser’s bracket final 4:30 p.m. at Loretto.

Kimball scored five runs apiece in the second and third innings to win a high scoring contest over Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg in the Section 5A Sub Section Final on Wednesday in Cold Spring.
The Fighting Saints pitching staff hurt themselves allowing 13 walks.
Kimball’s Ty Morrison was 2-for-2 with a double and Joey Von Wahlde was 1-for-5 with a triple and two RBI.
Jordan Engler of KMS pitched two innings allowing five hits.
Up next for the Fighting Saints will be Upsala/Swanville Area today at 4:30 p.m in Cold Spring.

Austin Weis tossed six one-hit innings, pitching around eight walks, to hold off Sleepy Eye in the third round of the subsection tournament.
The Warriors will face the winner of the New Ulm Cathedral-Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s game today in the subsection semifinals.
Max Buchtel and Ben Steffel each knocked three hits, and Buchtel drove in three runs.
Trent Athmann added two hits, two runs and two RBIs, and Reed Stadther scored three times.
