ANNANDALE - New London-Spicer scored a run in the seventh to send the Wright County Conference game with Annandale into extra innings, and the Wildcats won it 4-3 with two more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The Wildcats were the home team in a game played in Annandale. The teams played the opening game of a doubleheader at Siebert Field at the University of Minnesota on Monday before the second game was suspended by rain with Annandale leading 2-1 in the top of the third inning.
On Wednesday, in the seventh, Dalton Kampsen singled and left for pinch runner Jonny DeGeest.
Ike Goetzman followed with a single to center field, which was bobbled, allowing DeGeest to score the tying run from first.
After Annandale took the lead in the top of the eighth, the Wildcats’ Trey Austvold led off the bottom of the inning with a single. Lucas Nordmeyer reached on a bunt single and Ryan Vraa ripped a shot off the third baseman’s glove to load the based.

Brett Olson grounded a ball up the middle and an error on the shortstop allowed Austvold and Nordmeyer to score the tying and winning runs.
Austvold was 2-for-3 with a triple and Nordmeyer was 2-for-4. Vraa worked all eight innings and struck out 10 to get the win.
The Wildcats are 2-7 in the Wright County Conference and 3-8 overall. They play Hutchinson at 6:30 p.m. today at Green Lake Diamond in Spicer.

Ross Wendlandt threw his second-straight complete game and Litchfield’s four-run fifth inning was the difference in a Wright County Conference game.
The game was a continuation of a Monday doubleheader. Litchfield fell in the opener 1-0.
Wendlandt scattered seven hits and struck out six without issuing a walk.
The Dragon’s Dylan Kotzer was 2-for-3 and Eddie Estrada, Cody Klabunde and Brandon Behnke all drove in runs.
Litchfield is in the midst of a nine games in nine days stretch. The Dragons’ play two games today in Dassel, taking on Spectrum at 4:30 p.m. and Dassel-Cokato at 7 p.m.
The Dragons are 6-5 in the Wright County Conference and 8-5 overall.

Colton Minnick was 3-for-3 and Mitch Macik and Brody Larson both had two base hits as the Falcons scored five runs in the fifth and sixth innings to win the West Central Conference game on Wednesday.
Jordan Nelson and Sheldon Rasmussen both drove in two runs, and Larson and Derek Dengerud also had RBIs.
Benson scored a run in the seventh inning and had the bases loaded but popped up in the infield to end the game.

The Braves’ Tanner Mikkelson had two hits and Brady Young was 1-for-3 and drove in two runs.
The Falcons play Paynesville at home today, with the junior varsity playing first and the varsity game following at 6 p.m.

After falling behind in the first inning, the Jaguars put up 17 runs in the second and cruised to a Camden Conference win over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton on Wednesday.
