WILLMAR - Big innings helped Alexandria sweep Willmar in a Central Lakes Conference doubleheader on Tuesday at Bill Taunton Stadium.
Alexandria scored seven runs in the third inning and five in the sixth to down the Cardinals 12-0 in the first game.
In Game Two, Alexandria’s six-run fourth inning invoked the 10-run rule and the Cards fell again 11-1.
Alexandria’s Dan Kuhn three-hit the Cardinals in the first game and he struck out 10.
Austin Smith, Nate Ackerman and Carter Sack had Willmar’s hits.
In Game Two, Willmar scored its lone run in the second when Bryce Bromann singled home Zach Horman.
The Cardinals are home for a single conference game against St. Cloud Apollo at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Willmar plays in the Buffalo tournament on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m. The Cards play New Prague and Buffalo.

MACCRAY manufactured three two-out runs in the top of the seventh to break a 1-1 tie and beat RCW on Tuesday.
The Wolverines had two runners reach on an error, and after an intentional walk to load the bases, scored on a passed ball, bad throw and a base hit by Carter Asche.
Cory Krueger tossed a complete-game for MACCRAY, scattering six hits and allowing one unearned run.
MACCRAY next plays Thursday at home against CMCS, and RCW plays Thursday at Lakeview.

Israel Rodriguez hit an RBI single in the fifth, and Caleb Collins and Rylan Hatlestad each knocked in runs in the sixth.
Hatlestad was 3-for-4.
Jordan Engler pitched 6.1 innings and struck out nine to take the win, and Brandon Rasmusson picked up a save finishing off the final two outs on strikeouts.

ACGC had the bases loaded with one out in the sixth but a Kimball doubleplay erased the threat and the Cubs won the non-conference game Tuesday in Kimball.
ACGC’s Brett Busskohl was 3-for-4 with a double and Derek Dengerud was 2-for-4. Colton Minnick had a hit and drove in a run.
Payton Kinzler took a tough loss, allowing two earned runs and striking out five.
ACGC is 4-4 overall and play at Melrose at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Jaden Hanson had three hits and two runs scored, and Austin Nelson tossed a complete game to lead New London-Spicer over Montevideo on Tuesday.
The Wildcats scattered 11 hits, doing the most damage in a four-run third inning thanks to three errors, a walk, and RBI singles from Hanson and Tyler Kemen.
Ike Goetzman and Trey Austvold each had two hits for NLS.
Nelson struck out five, allowing three hits and one walk.

Litchfield’s Eddie Estrada was 3-for-5 and he drove in four runs, Jake Schultz had three hits and drove in two and Jake Jones had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in a run.
BBE’s Dalon Bitzan was 2-for-3 and drove in a run and Ryan Illies also had two hits. Adrian Beldon singled in two runs.
Litchfield improved to 7-5 overall and plays host to Annandale in a Wright County Conference game at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Melrose scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning of a West Central Conference game on Tuesday.
The Dutch also won Game Two to sweep the previously undefeated Lakers, who are 9-2. Melrose is 8-3 and has won six straight games.
The Lakers’ Riley Thompson homered and drove in three runs and Matt McIver and Jon Nygaard also had two hits.
