SAUK CENTRE -- Tyler Berling scored on an errant pickoff throw in the fourth inning and Sauk Centre went on to clip New London-Spicer 2-1 Friday in West Central North baseball.
It was the Wildcats' only error as they outhit the Mainstreeters 7-5.
New London-Spicer went up 1-0 in the top of the first when Tyler Thunstedt cracked the first of his two doubles and then came home on a single by Kevin Soine.
Berling pitched the first five innings to get the win.
Jack Schwaegerl, coming back from an arm injury, pitched the first two innings allowing one hit -- a solo homer to Shay Mieczkowski -- while getting all six outs by strikeout.

Shawn Hatlestad went four innings, allowing four hits and an unearned run to take the loss.

Starting pitcher Austin Ludowese was 2-for-3. He was forced from the mound with a sore arm before retiring a batter.
Freshman Mason Clark threw six solid innings, allowing three hits and one earned run.

The Wolverines (12-0, 14-2) put together a five-run second inning for a quick 6-0 lead.
The big hits were an RBI triple by Shaun Condon, who also singled in a run in the first, and a two-run homer by Tyler Wrede.
Dakota Freiborg had three of Renville County West's five hits off Jordan Ruter, including an RBI single in the third.
Ruter went the distance, issuing three walks and striking out nine.
In four strong innings of relief, the Jaguars' Ben Trochlil gave up one hit, one run, walked one and fanned five.
