MADISON -- A six-run inning propelled Lac qui Parle Valley to a 7-3 win over Yellow Medicine East in West Central South baseball play Friday.
The Sting (4-4, 5-4) scored three runs in the top of the fifth for the first runs scored in the game.
The Eagles (6-3, 6-5) responded with six runs in the bottom of the frame. Baxter DuFrane hit a two-run double for LQPV's first runs, then Jordan Schwarz singled in the tying run. Aaron Olson's fielder's choice gave the Eagles the lead.
DuFrane, who started on the mound for LQPV, shut out YME in the last two innings to get the seven-inning win. He allowed seven hits, struck out five and walked five.

Ryan Kleven went 3-for-3 with a double and five RBI to pace the Lakers (5-4, 6-6). He had a two-run single in the first inning as Minnewaska scored four runs, an RBI single in the second and a two-run single in the third.
Kevin Jenks added a two-run double in the second.
Carter Fennell had one hit and scored two runs to lead Benson (1-9, 2-10).

Jeff Peterson's RBI double and a Brooks Maurer single put Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City (6-5, 6-7) up 2-0 in the first. The Falcons scored five in fifth on two hits, three walks and two errors by Morris (3-4, 4-6).
Losing pitcher Eric Riley was solid until the troublesome fifth inning.
