GLENWOOD - Austin VerSteeg threw a two-hitter and Minnewaska manufactured a sixth-inning run to edge Morris/Chokio-Alberta 1-0 in a pitcher’s duel Tuesday.
VerSteeg struck out six and didn’t walk any. He also had two of his team’s five hits.
MCA’s Brady Jergenson was equally excellent most of the way, striking out seven with two walks.

The loss, the Tigers’ first in West Central Conference play, cost them a chance to move into undisputed second place, as fellow WCC unbeatens Sauk Centre and Melrose played each other Tuesday.
