Tribune Staff Report
In the 100 years of state tournament basketball, schools covered by the West Central Tribune have been regular participants including the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa and Litchfield boys teams this year.
Willmar went to the very first tournament in 1913, an invitational where the team lost to Fosston which went on to be crowned champion. The first tournament for girls was held in 1974, in the fall. The next season the girls joined the boys in playing a winter schedule.
Below, in alphabetical order, are the schools in the Tribune's coverage area and years they reached state, according to the Minnesota State High School League.
