WILLMAR — Down 25-17 at halftime, Maplewood Academy of Hutchinson was able to storm back in the second half to beat the Community Christian School of Willmar boys basketball team 51-49 Tuesday at CCS.
The visiting Huskies had three players finish in double figures. Josh Kerongo had 20 points followed by 16 from Michael Boit and 11 from Asana Obse.
The host Eagles had their own trio of double-digit scorers in Jonny Reid (17), Will Chapin (12) and Gavin Mulder (10). Reid also had 13 rebounds (11 defensive) and three assists. Chapin and Mulder each had nine rebounds, with Chapin adding five assists and four steals.

Shooting proved problematic for CCS, which shot 25.7% from the field.
The Eagles are back at home Friday, hosting Immanuel Lutheran of Mankato at 7 p.m.

The Community Christian girls had no trouble putting away Maplewood Academy in the first game of a boys/girls doubleheader in Willmar.
The Eagles were up 28-10 at halftime.

Sophia Bollig and Hope Reid both finished with double-doubles for CCS. Sophia had 17 points (on 6 of 8 shooting), 10 rebounds and four steals. Reid had 16 points and 10 boards. Gabbie Bollig added 10 points and six rebounds in the victory.
The Eagles have another boys/girls doubleheader on Friday against Immanuel Lutheran of Mankato. The girls game will tip off at 5:30 p.m.
