PRINSBURG - The Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg girls rode a fast start to top Central Minnesota Christian 59-50 in a Camden Conference game on Tuesday night.
Samantha Gjerde starred for the Fighting Saints by posting 24 points, four assists and five steals, and Lexi Lamecker added 13.
CMCS’ offense heated up after putting up just 20 points in the first half, but it wasn’t enough. Allison Bulthuis had 21 points and Kalley Schwitters had 14 rebounds and five assists.
KMS takes on Renville County West on Friday, while CMCS will play Dawson-Boyd Thursday at home.

Kelsea Lund piled up 22 points, five assists and seven steals, and Lac qui Parle Valley handled Dawson-Boyd at home on Tuesday night 62-38.
Haley Wollschlager added 15 points for the Eagles, who improved to 2-0 on the season. They held the Blackjacks to just 12 points in the second half.
Alex Sather paced Dawson-Boyd with a double-double, accumulating 10 points and 10 rebounds with five steals.
The Eagles host MACCRAY on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. next, while the Blackjacks will travel to Central Minnesota Christian.

Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart collected its first win of the season after nearly squandering a 15-point lead on Tuesday in New Ulm.
Kiana Johnson scored 10 of her team-high 16 points in the second half for the Mustangs, who led 45-30 with 7:30 remaining.
Johnson also grabbed 12 rebounds to post a double-double. Breanna Buboltz followed with nine points, Sara Kottke pulled in 10 rebounds and Maddy Ehlers pocketed four steals.
