Prep Basketball Writeup: 'Streeters too much for Montevideo

MONTEVIDEO -- The Montevideo girls basketball team hung around with Sauk Centre in the first half but the powerful Mainstreeters proved too tough, winning 93-54 in a West Central Conference game Thursday.

Morgan Reidinger led the Thunder Hawks with 19 points and Abby Olson had 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

Monte’s Ashley McKee finished with eight points and five rebounds.

Montevideo plays at MACCRAY at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Clara City.

Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg took care of business against Dawson-Boyd on the road Thursday night with a 65-49 win.

Kallee Anderson led the Fighting Saints with 17 points, and Sam Gjerde led the team in all other categories with 10 rebounds, six assists and five steals to go with 15 points.

Alex Sather powered the Blackjacks with 16 points, four steals and three assists and Kaitlyn Willander had 15 points and seven rebounds.

KMS is in action again Monday against Ortonville, and Dawson-Boyd will play Redwood Valley on Dec. 29.
