Prep Football: ACGC flattens Benson

GROVE CITY - Junior Beau Anderson rushed for 198 yards and three scores as the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Falcons trampled Benson 32-22 on a steamy Friday night in West Central Conference football.
The Falcons led 32-8 before the Braves mounted two last touchdown drives.
Anderson did most of the legwork in the Falcons’ first scoring drive, wedging in from the four in the first quarter for a 7-0 lead at half.
Derek Dengerud ran for a 36 yards score in the third and followed that up with a 27-yard scoring pass to Anderson for a 19-0 lead. Dengerud ended up with 156 yards rushing.
Aaron Ahrndt, who threw for 281 yards, hooked up with Layton Connelly from 21 yards to get Benson on the board in the third quarter.
But ACGC quickly answered with drives topped by pile-driving runs by Anderson.
Ahrndt, who was picked off three times, passed to Connelly, again, and Manzke for scores in the fourth.
