Prep football roundup: Litchfield beats D-C in final minutes

LITCHFIELD -- Litchfield's Brandon Nelson caught the go-ahead touchdown pass from Josh Prahl with about 3-1/2 minutes to play, and Dassel-Cokato missed a field goal as time expired as the Dragons came away with a 14-13 victory on Friday.

Carson Deal caught a three-yard TD pass from Prahl in the second quarter for the Dragons’ other score, and Jared Pederson hit both his conversion kicks.
DC’s Luke Morris, who hit two earlier field goals and an extra point, missed a 27-yard try wide right as time expired.
Prahl hit 19 of 29 passes for 237 yards and the two TDs.
Pederson caught four passes for 73 yards, Deal pulled in six balls for 32 yards and Noah Kreger, Logan Nelson and Nolan Dietel all had three receptions.
The Dragons are 3-1 overall and play at Holy Family Catholic at 7 p.m. Friday in Victoria.

After mistakes led to two Dawson-Boyd touchdowns, the defending Class A state champions opened up on the Blackjacks in the second half on Friday in Dawson.
In a replay of last year’s state title game, the Blackjacks scored on two short drives and led 13-7 at halftime.
But Minneota scored on a 70-yard pass play on the second play of the second half and Alex Pohlen threw two more TD passes to ice the game.
D-B’s Jess Hansen played a strong game, hitting 24 of 38 passes for 242 yards and the two touchdowns.

Hayden Johnson threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score, and David Glaescher was 5-for-5 on extra-point kicks and kicked two field goals to ignite Renville County West’s rout on Friday in Hancock.
Johnson completed 11 of 18 passes for 216 yards and rushed 13 times to gain another 131 yards of offense for the Jaguars, who didn’t turn the ball over and notched seven sacks.

Grant Thompson scored three times and Gavin Stanger twice for the Bulldogs.

Adam Lindahl hauled in a 31-yard touchdown pass from Layton Connelly to give Benson a quick 7-0 lead, but it was all BOLD after that on Friday.
Brad Wolff ran wild for the Warriors, collecting 204 rushing yards and two scores on 24 carries. BOLD had 410 yards on the ground behind 56 carries and also had Conner Riley gain 160 yards on 18 touches. Riley capped the scoring with a 64-yard scamper in the fourth quarter.
Austin Einerson put BOLD (2-2) ahead with a 10-yard TD run in the second quarter and Zack Blum booted a 32-yard field goal on the last play of the first half to give BOLD a 19-7 lead at halftime.
Benson (1-3) managed to gain just 137 yards on offense. Brett Sulier led the rushing attack with 61 yards as Connelly completed five passes to five different players.
