GLENCOE - In a battle of defenses, Litchfield came out on top, barely, beating Glencoe-Silver Lake 7-6 on Thursday.
The difference in the game came when the Glencoe-Silver Lake holder bobbled the ball on the extra point after Carsen Streich’s touchdown, keeping the Panthers’ score at 6.
Litchfield’s Brandon Nelson caught a 12-yard touchdown reception from Josh Prahl later in the second quarter, and Jared Peterson kicked the extra point that eventually gave the Dragons their fourth win.
Connor Hoff made seven tackles with 13 assists, Josh Madsen was 1-9 and Sam Tibbits was 4-5 for the Dragons’ defense.
The Dragons (4-4) will play their Section 6AAA opener on Wednesday.

New London-Spicer easily handled Milaca on Thursday night, winning on the road.
The Wildcats rushed for 335 yards on just 32 carries and ruled with the big play, as each of their touchdowns came from at least 15 yards out and five came from at least 30 yards out.
They finished the first quarter with a 27-0 lead in the rout.
Josh Soine rushed for two touchdowns and 119 yards on only eight carries, Cody King caught two touchdown passes, and Blake Shuck caught one touchdown pass and ran for another.
The Wildcats matched their offensive dominancwe with a lockdown defensive performance, holding the Wolves to less than a yard per carry on the ground and 119 passing yards on 31 attempts.
The Wilcats will see what awaits them in the upcoming week.

The Lakers piled up 418 total yards of offense on the way to their seventh win of the season.
Helander, Tony Hill and Justin Amundson each provided four solo tackles for Minnewaska.
ACGC’s Colton Minnick made six solo tackles and two sacks.
Beau Anderson provided all the offense for the Falcons, running for 133 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries.

MACCRAY broke off three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to nearly pull off an upset victory over Hillcrest Lutheran, but two late scores by the Comets gave the Wolverines their fourth loss of the regular season.
Connor Cronen had a hand in all five of MACCRAY’s TDs, passing for 299 yards and three touchdowns on 16 completions, and running for two more scores.
Brady Madsen was the target all three times, catching six passes for 51 yards in all.
