Annandale 26,
Litchfield 18
Annandale overcame a late Litchfield surge to win the game between two winless teams. The Cardinals scored early in the fourth quarter to take a 26-6 lead, but the visiting Dragons got short touchdown runs from Cody Klabunde and Jared Pedersen late in the quarter to make it a game.
The Dragons tried to successfully land on an onside kick after Pedersen’s score, but Annandale recovered, seemingly sealing the win. But shortly after Dylan Kotzer recovered an Annandale fumble, giving the Dragons a shot to tie the game. Litchfield got to the Annandale 20, but a botched snap set up a fourth-and-20, which ended in Litchfield throwing an interception to seal its fate.
Klabunde also scored on a 12-yard run in the second quarter and finished with 151 rushing yards.
