The Willmar football team's 27-24 upset of top-seed Fergus Falls in the Section 8AAAA semifinals on Saturday has earned the Cardinals a rematch against Rocori at 6 p.m. Friday at Alexandria High School, with a state tournament berth on the line.
The No. 4-seed Cardinals' and the No. 3 seed Spartans were set to meet in Moorhead but the site was changed for ease of travel.
No. 3-seed Rocori earned its spot in the championship game with a 33-0 thumping of No. 2 Detroit Lakes on Saturday in Detroit Lakes.
Rocori defeated the Cardinals 41-20 in the second game of the season on Aug. 28 in Cold Spring.
