ST. CLOUD — The Litchfield girls basketball team moved into the championship game of the Crusader Christmas Classic on Wednesday.
The Dragons beat host St. Cloud Cathedral 62-48 to advance to the final at 6 p.m. Thursday. Litchfield plays Melrose for the title. The Dutchmen beat Concordia Academy 64-57 in Wednesday’s other semifinal.
Against Cathedral, the Dragons led 27-18 at halftime. They wound up getting 17 points from Izzy Pennertz, 13 from Maggie Boerema, 12 from Greta Hansen and 10 from Kylie Michels..
Eleanor Pelzel scored 21 points to lead the Crusaders, who also got 16 points from Kaitlyn Voth.

The Rangers led 36-5 at halftime and were led by Sage Ganyo, who scored 22 points and reached the 1,000-point career milestone in the victory.
BBE plays Cass Lake-Bena at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Cloud Tech in Day 2 of the Classic. Cass Lake-Bena beat Holdingford 64-56 behind Taryn Frazer’s 30 points.

Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg built on a 26-19 halftime lead to put away East Central at the Windom tournament.
Hayley Demuth had 14 points, four steals and three blocks to lead KMS. Josie Gjerde had 11 points and six rebounds for the Fighting Saints. Also for KMS, Elsa Gjerde had 10 points and Emily Wagner had six points, five rebounds and eight assists.
