ST. CLOUD — The Litchfield girls basketball team took home first place Thursday at the Crusader Christmas Classic, beating Melrose 46-34 at St. Cloud Cathedral.
The Dragons’ Maggie Boerema and Izzy Pennertz earned spots on the all-tournament team. Boerema had 16 points and 17 rebounds against Melrose. Pennertz had 17 points.
Brooke Meyer led the Dutchmen with 11 points.
In the third-place game, Cathedral beat Concordia Academy 67-46.
Litchfield plays Tuesday at home against Rockford.

Abby Berge, Allison Dingmann and Brooklyn Fischer all had big games to help Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa to the victory over Cass Lake-Bena at St. Cloud Tech.
BBE bounced back after a 72-18 loss to Mountain Iron-Buhl, which is ranked No. 1 in Class A.
Berge had 22 points, five rebounds and two steals. Dingmann had 21 points and Fischer had 21 points and five rebounds.
The Panthers were led by senior guard Taryn Frazer, who had 32 points, six rebounds and two steals.
BBE plays a Central Minnesota Conference game at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Maple Lake.
