HUTCHINSON -- Sara Carlson and Claire Cripps ended Willmar's undefeated start on Tuesday as Hutchinson won 5-3.

Carlson scored four goals and assisted her linemate on the fifth. Cripps also assisted on three of Carlson's goals.

Willmar (5-1-1) tied the score 3-3 on Amelia Amon's second goal at 9:04 of the third. But Carlson, who is headed to New Hampshire next year to play Division I hockey, scored twice in the next three minutes.

Becca Freese scored at 11:01 of the second to give Willmar a 2-1 lead until Carlson's unassisted goal tied it 2-2 through two frames.

"All three of our lines played well. I thought we outplayed them a lot of the time," said Willmar coach Jason Mayer. "We had some breakdowns defensively and one girl (Carlson) took it to us a couple of shifts."

But Mayer allowed that his new team has played surprisingly well for so early in the season. Next is Cambridge-Isanti on Saturday at the Civic Center's Cardinal Arena.
