HUTCHINSON — The Willmar boys golf team took third place at the six-team Hutchinson Invitational on Friday.
The Cardinals shot a 349 at the Crow River Golf Club, 23 strokes behind first-place Hutchinson, which had a 326.
Litchfield took fourth with a 352.
Medalist was Hutchinson’s Devon Verhassel, who carded a 76. Litchfield’s Sam Tipka took fourth with a 79.
Willmar’s top scorer was Nathan Marthaler, who had an 85. Joey Wisocki shot 86, as did Litchfield’s Tyler Jansky.

Willmar is next scheduled to play in a Central Lakes Conference meet at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Fergus Falls.

Minnewaska’s boys shot a 165 to take first at the BOLD invitational in Olivia.
Cole Harste shot a 40 to tie for second for the Lakers. BOLD shot a 179 to tie for second. Benson and Morris/Chokio-Alberta each shot 180s to take fourth and Montevideo had a 216 to finish seventh in the seven-team West Central Conference meet.
Charlie Hanson, an eighth-grader for Morris/CA, shot 35.
In the girls’ meet, Minnewaska/Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa took first with a 181. Medalist was Minnewaska/BBE’s Annika Stensrud, who shot a 38 to win by seven strokes.

Minnewaska won a piece of both the boys and girls as the Laker boys and the Blue Jacket girls won in Montevideo.
The Minnewaska boys had a score of 160, beating Benson’s 166. The Lakers were led by Cole Harste’s third-place round of 38.
Taking medalist honors was Morris/Chokio-Alberta eighth-grader Charlie Hanson with a 36, beating Benson’s Brady DeHaan by a stroke.
In the girls meet, Minnewaska/Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa won with a score of 190, beating Sauk Centre by 29 strokes. The Blue Jackets’ Berkley Steffen took medalist honors after carding a 38, beating teammate Annika Stensrud by four strokes.
