REDWOOD FALLS - The Montevideo girls tennis team made it a sweet Labor Day sweep over Redwood Valley, winning 7-0 on Monday.
Kailey Maroney, Kendra Wanke, Erica Loose and Taylor Knutson allowed a combined seven games in a sweep of the singles matches.
The Thunder Hawks were even more impressive winning the three doubles matches, with Macy Peters and Anna VanRavenswaay, Nikki Erickson and Morgan Reidinger, and Olivia Bartz and Rachel West giving up just five games in straight-set victories.
The T-Hawks play next at Sauk Centre today.

Willmar’s Community Christian School boys cross country team placed eighth at the 10-team Canby Late Nite Invite on Friday at the Canby Golf Course.
Sioux Falls Washington won the meet and Marshall placed second.
Community Christian School’s Joshua Starr placed sixth among the 73 runners in 18 minutes, 4.3 seconds and Riley Gardner was 29th in 19:58.7.

The Central Minnesota Christian School volleyball team defeated Aberdeen 2-1 in a best two-of-three format to claim fifth place at the Sioux Falls Christian Invitational on Friday.
CMCS lost to Sioux Falls Christian, South Dakota’s defending Class A state champions, in three games, and also fell to Milbank in three.
Kalley Schwitters tallied 33 kills and Kendra Brouwer had 18 kills. Ellie Greenwaldt had five ace serves, four blocks and 75 set assists.
Schwitters also served five aces and had 29 digs, and Tori Orred had 11 kills, five service aces and four blocks.
The Bluejays play next at Lac qui Parle Valley at 7:15 p.m. today.
