MORRIS -- Kenzie Meagher and Whitney Woehler led Paynesville to a 6-4 West Central South Conference softball win over Morris Tuesday.

Meagher hit a bases-clearing double in the third inning and then drove in a run in the seventh to give the Bulldogs (9-1, 11-2) a 6-4 lead.

Paynesville is in a virtual tie for the conference lead with Benson/Hancock and Minnewaska with one loss apiece.

Woehler pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts and one walk. She allowed four runs, but none were earned. The Paynesville defense committed four errors.

Meagher's three-run double gave her team a 5-0 lead, but Morris answered with four unearned runs in the sixth.

Katie Holzheimer and Mary Rentz each singled for the Tigers (4-4, 4-5).

Benson/Hancock 12, Atwater-Cosmos-GC 2

Kendra Schmidgall ended the game early for Benson/Hancock (9-1, 10-2) when she drove in Datrianna Jensen and Brennan Hagen with a three-run homer in the sixth inning. Hagen also homered for the Brave/Owls, connecting on a solo shot to lead off the third.

Both Hagen and Schmidgall had three hits to help the Brave/Owls win their seventh straight game. Taylor Semler struck out five and gave up five hits and two runs in six innings to earn the win.

Sam Cunningham singled in Sam Ehrenberg and Angela Blackwell in the fifth for Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City's two runs.

Laura Paulson fanned three batters in the first inning and struck out the last two batters she faced to finish with 10 strikeouts in her complete-game win for Minnewaska (10-1, 13-2).

Kaylee Jacobs singled in Jillian Hendrickson to invoke the 10-run rule in the sixth inning as the Lakers scored five times in the frame. Hendrickson had a two-run single, Brooke Falk singled in another run and Joelle Johnsrud drew a bases-loaded walk before Jacobs ended the game early.

Lauren Trudel, Aimee Johnson, Ashly Sneller, Ashley Magnuson and Angie Scheffler all singled to account for Yellow Medicine East's offense.
