Prep Softball: Bulldogs topple Osakis

GLENWOOD - Kayla Schaefer homered and pitched a complete game as Paynesville smashed 15 hits to beat Osakis 9-2 in the Section 6AA-West semifinals on Wednesday.
Schaefer allowed two runs on four hits with no walks and six strikeouts.
She surrendered a leadoff home run to Osakis’ Morgan Staloch, but held the Silverstreaks to just three hits the rest of the game.
Paynesville’s Allie Stanger was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Abbie Wuertz was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Schaefer had three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.
The Bulldogs face West Central Conference rival Minnewaska today at 3 p.m. in Glenwood to determine the subsection champion.
In the last meeting between the two teams, Minnewaska won in Glenwood on May 8.
