BRAINERD - Brainerd pitching squelched Willmar in a Central Lakes Conference doubleheader on Tuesday.
The Warriors’ Jordan Sullivan allowed just an unearned run, surrendered five hits, didn’t walk a batter and struck out six in a 6-1 victory in Game One.
In the second game, the Warriors’ offense came alive, as well, scoring in all five innings of a 13-1 win. Brainerd’s Maren Handrits gave up six hits and also didn’t issue a walk.
Jordyn Swoboda drove in the lone Willmar run.
In Game Two, Brainerd’s Kaye Smude homered and drove in three runs and Lexi Roby had three hits and drove in three runs.

Willmar’s Grace Culshaw had a double among her two hits and drove in the Cards’ run. Amanda Zuidema tripled and scored the run.
Willmar, which fell to 5-5 in the CLC and 6-7 overall, is at first-place and Class AAA No. 3-ranked Rocori (11-0, 14-1) Thursday for a 5 p.m. game.
