DAWSON -- Dawson-Boyd moved into a first-place tie for the Camden North Conference lead Thursday with a doubleheader sweep of MACCRAY.

The Blackjacks (7-3, 10-3) won the first game 8-0, then survived a late Wolverine rally to win the second game, 4-3.

Dawson-Boyd leapfrogged MACCRAY with its sweep and is now tied with KMS, which also has three losses.

Dawson-Boyd's Kendra Lindblad hurled a two-hit shutout in the first game to keep the Wolverines (8-4, 12-7) from clinching the conference title outright. She struck out six and walked three. Mariah Kuhlmann had two hits, including a two-run double in the seventh inning.

MACCRAY rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the second game by scoring two runs in the top of the seventh with only one out on singles from Christal Stavne and Caylee Hagemeyer. The Wolverines had the bases loaded after a walk, but a pop fly to the shortstop and a strikeout ended the rally and the game. Hagemeyer went 3-for-3 and Hailey Goeman had two hits.

Lindblad hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to give the Blackjacks a 4-1 lead. Kristen Lee went 3-for-3.
