Prep Softball: Lakers topple Bulldogs

GLENWOOD - Minnewaska scored in five of its six innings, sealing a 9-5 West Central Conference win with a three-run sixth against Paynesville on Friday at Minnewaska High School.
Morgan Hess was 3-for-4, drove in a run and scored three times, and tossed a complete game to pick up the win.
Rachel Bakko and Ashley Bakko both drove in runs, and Bayley Pooler, Jordan Roggenkamp and Abby VerSteeg also had RBIs.
Paynesville’s Kayla Schaefer and Allie Stanger were 2-for-4 with doubles, and Stanger drove in two runs. Ashley Eisenbrun drove in two runs and Brooke Caldwell was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
The Lakers are 13-4 overall and play host to Morris/Chokio-Alberta in a conference doubleheader at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Paynesville next plays Tuesday at ACGC.
